Actively practicing Mississippi RNs and LPNs currently have no routine continuing education requirement for renewal. The Mississippi Board of Nursing repealed its standard CE rule (Title 30, Part 2815) in February 2020. One exception applies: if you have been out of practice for more than five years, you must complete 20 contact hours of accepted continuing education, earned in the prior two-year period, for renewal, endorsement, or reinstatement. Mississippi APRNs must complete a minimum of five contact hours of continuing education directly related to controlled substances per state certification period.
