Telehealth in Nursing Practice: Clinical Applications, Access, and Accountability

Description

Telehealth has evolved from an emergency measure into a lasting and essential component of modern healthcare. This course explores the foundational principles of telehealth in nursing, including technology modalities, legal and regulatory considerations, privacy and reimbursement issues, and clinical practice applications. Emphasis is placed on real-world scenarios across acute care, chronic disease management, home care, wound care, behavioral health, and rural populations. Participants will gain practical tools for delivering care via video, telephone, and asynchronous platforms, with attention to scope of practice, licensure, and patient engagement. The course also addresses current standards from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), American Nurses Association (ANA), and other governing bodies, helping nurses build competence and confidence in virtual care delivery.
