Bioterrorism Preparedness

Description

Bioterrorism remains a critical public health concern, requiring all healthcare professionals to maintain vigilance and preparedness. This course provides RNs, LPNs, and APRNs with evidence-based guidance for recognizing the clinical manifestations of high-priority biological agents, initiating appropriate infection control measures, and coordinating care during a potential or confirmed bioterrorism incident. Emphasis is placed on Category A agents such as anthrax, plague, smallpox, tularemia, and botulism, as well as associated toxins. Learners will gain insight into early detection, diagnostic considerations, treatment protocols, prophylactic measures, and the integration of public health resources to mitigate the impact of a biological attack.
