Description
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease with complex clinical and supportive care needs. This course equips RNs, LPNs, and APRNs with a comprehensive understanding of ALS, from pathophysiology and clinical presentation to evidence-based management. Participants will explore diagnostic challenges, available disease-modifying therapies, symptom-based interventions, and the role of the multidisciplinary care team. Special attention will be given to respiratory and nutritional support, communication strategies, palliative integration, and caregiver resources. The content integrates current guidelines, expert consensus, and practical nursing considerations to enhance both quality of care and quality of life for individuals living with ALS.
